Los Angeles is infamous for its air pollution, mostly due to the countless automobiles on the road on a daily basis. The term “smog” got its birth in Los Angeles because of the brown mixture of smoke and fog that lingers in the sky on hazy days. In recent years, the city has taken drastic measures to clean up the air, one being the use of one of the nation’s cleanest public transit systems.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles has still a long way to go and no one really expects the air quality to change much until the city builds a public transport system that is as vast as systems found in other major cities. The wide spread layout of the city makes it very hard not to use a car to get around. At present 11.2% of LA residents use public transport while in other large cities, the number is much higher.<\/p>\n

There is an escape from the bad air of a hazy day, and it comes in the form of the many beaches that are accessible to you. Any doubts at all about pollution can be put to rest if you move to Santa Monica where you can breath in the crisp air and cool breeze of the ocean!<\/p>\n

One should to be up to date with vaccinations before coming to the city. Young children will not be admitted to school without proof of their vaccinations. Most school websites will list vaccination requirements as part of their admissions process. The most common of the needed vaccinations include DTAP, POLIO, Tuberculosis (TB), and others.<\/p>\n

There are no required vaccinations for Los Angeles<\/a> or any specific health risks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
