Using common sense and taking basic precautions such as not walking alone at night will minimize risk. Also try to avoid huge crowds near events like football games, as London’s drinking culture and crowds don’t mix. Never leave your mobile phone or bag unattended. Placing your phone even on a restaurant table is a bad idea. Never leave your drink unattended as this could be an invitation for a spiking incident.<\/p>\n

If you are traveling late at night and have to take the night bus because the tube is closed and you can’t afford a taxi, try to sit near the front of the bus. If the tube is still open try to sit in a carriage that is occupied. Never hire an unlicensed taxi; take a Black Cab if you can.<\/p>\n

Women should take extra precaution in London<\/a>, as thieves target women more than men, often because women are known to carry items of greater value. Watch your belongings and avoid traveling alone if possible. Women can also minimize the threat of sexual assault by being vigilant and avoiding strangers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
