Networking Options in Delhi<\/h2>\n

Expat Clubs<\/h3>\n

Expats in Delhi<\/a> tend to meet and socialize easily with other expats. Most expats groups are privately run and are very accommodating in helping you get used to Delhi. Many also provide volunteer and fund raising opportunities.<\/p>\n

Delhi Network<\/strong>\u00a0is a non-profit organization that support expatriates living and working in New Delhi. Newcomers\u2019 coffee mornings are held every Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, from 9:30 to 11:30. Monthly meetings are on the third Tuesday of every month, also at the Hyatt from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Membership is only open to foreign passport holders, and while it’s open to men and women, the coffee meetings have an almost all female attendance.<\/p>\n

The American Women’s Association<\/strong> has been serving the American community in New Delhi since 1947. Membership is open to all American citizens and to spouses of American citizens. They are located within the American Embassy Compound, Panchsheel Marg.<\/p>\n

Gurgaon Connection<\/strong>\u00a0(http:\/\/www.gurgaonconnection.com\/<\/a>) is a social community for expatriates who live or work in Gurgaon, Haryana (NCR Region). They have news, clubs, committees, and social activities for just about everyone! The group offers a way to share information and build a network with friends nearby.<\/p>\n

Professional Organizations<\/h3>\n

American Chamber of Commerce in India<\/strong>\u00a0(http:\/\/www.amchamindia.com\/<\/a>) promotes business relationships between India and the United States.<\/p>\n

The British Business Group<\/strong>\u00a0(BBG) is networking\/lobbying\/forum\/social\/ group with branches in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune. BBG has an active programme of speaker meetings and interactions with visiting British delegations, as well as more informal social gatherings. Cultural Exchange<\/h3>\n

The Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association<\/strong>\u00a0(DCWA)\u00a0http:\/\/dcwaindia.com\/<\/a>includes almost 500 women and provides an opportunity for cultural exchange between women of the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n

Online Networking<\/h3>\n

Dillinet<\/strong> is an online expat club based on the Ning social network platform. It’s popular with the younger expat crowd, and is a good place to find accommodation and get advice on issues pertaining to life in India. It’s also a good place to find out about expat club nights and parties.<\/p>\n

The Yahoo! listserve “Yuni-Net<\/strong>” is Delhi’s best place to find flatmates, buy or sell home furnishings and appliances, or ask questions to the local expat community. You have to apply for membership, but it’s free.\u00a0http:\/\/groups.yahoo.com\/group\/Yuni-Net<\/a><\/p>\n
